SYSTEX Value Professional team to ensure the sustainable operation of enterprise systems.
Customer's Background To cope with the growth of IT services and relevant data, and in consideration of the importance of data communication security. The customer uses the SAN to provide the local and remote recovery and backup functions of all data for its five major systems deployed throughout the island, including routine operation server power operation graphic data system, power distribution pipeline graphic data management system, power distribution work construction management system and CAD subsystem, and audit management system, to ensure the quick recovery of the operation system and data for maintaining normal service operation.
Problems and Major Tasks The remote backup and recovery services for APs and DBs should be achieved via the existing internal backbone network of the local APs at individual locations. ‧Furnished with future extendibility ‧Furnished with system inheritability ‧Furnished with cross backup and recovery capabilities ‧Furnished with quick drafting of disaster recovery strategy ‧Furnished with various alarms to alert administrators and to activate the entire service AP system at the remote center according to the policy when the information center system breaks down due to a disaster
Project Objectives ‧To replicate data and AP to a remote end via private network or PSTN to minimize the risk of service disruption in a disaster. ‧The requirements of remote backup and recovery fall into “data and AP” and “database”. The type of tailored remote backup and recovery product(s) is finalized after extendibility, system inheritability and cross backup capacity assessment.
SYSTEX Services ‧Planning of Windows server disaster restoration ‧Planning of UNIX server disaster restoration ‧Planning of DB server disaster restoration ‧Planning of platform change and version upgrade ‧Analysis and establishment of remote backup management policy ‧Installation and deployment of remote backup system ‧Verification of remote backup and restoration data consistency ‧AP remote backup and recovery drills: Educational training for system uses and management according to the constructed remote backup and recovery systems ‧Periodic backup and recovery drills and follow-up technical consulting
Project Benefits ‧The project falls into 3 phases, including the configuration of the location server system replicator (Veritas Volume Replicator), installation of HA AP (Global Cluster Manage), and construction of the WAN cluster system to allow switching of AP over the WAN. ‧Help customers to build a backup and recovery platform with flexible extension to meet the needs of new AP. |
