SYSTEX Value To ensure the access of critical enterprise data and the integrity of future applications.
Customer's Background An information center plans to provide information service messages to users. Based on the data planning and integration requirements, data management will be gradually changed from being distributed to centralized management, thus proposing higher demands for the reliability, security, manageability and scalability of data.
Problems and Major Tasks ‧The information center provides a wide range of critical applications and has stored a large amount of critical data. The entire network environment is complex as it comprises servers of heterogeneous platforms and storage equipment. The traditional DAS architecture and manual backup method become inadequate, including cutting time costs and greater pressure. If each host must be equipped with storage equipment, both the overhead and management costs are expensive.
‧Difficulties in server and storage equipment management: system administrators must manage servers of heterogeneous platforms and storage equipment of different brands, which adds work pressure.
‧Low usage of storage equipment: Free storage resources are unable to to be shared for the needs of other servers.
Project Objectives ‧A centralized management, security, reliable and high-performance storage area network (SAN) is set up according to the customer’s requirements of storage system reengineering and SAN. ‧Guarantee for new data storage needs in the future with grater scalability.
SYSTEX Services ‧Analysis of the status of the customer’s current storage resources. ‧Proposal on entire storage planning according to the customer’s sales and growth needs. ‧Planning and design of the data integration and backup system of enterprise AP servers. ‧Analysis and drawing up of policies of storage resources management. ‧Installation and deployment of storage system.
Project Benefits ‧Help customers to alter storage architecture, provide service continuity of major APs, and expand multi-tier storage architecture. ‧Allow customer to realize the scalability and convenience of SAN which reduces customer overheads, enhances IT administrator efficiency and customer satisfaction. |
